Whether you're decorating a modern living room or traditional sitting room, decorations that sit on your coffee table are most likely what will draw the eye. This is because a coffee table is usually positioned in the center of the room, framed by couches, sofas, sectionals, recliners or other types of seating. Make sure your coffee table is decorated to impress with this helpful decorating guide detailing my ideas for coffee table decorations:

Books: Every coffee table has the potential to showcase your passions with a little tweaking. I suggest looking for oversized coffee table books that show off your love of the arts, passion for fashion or appreciation for architecture.

Candles: This is an obvious one. Displaying candles on your coffee table is a great way to create a cozy, welcoming environment. Choose a seasonal scent to bring forth a festive ambiance or go with your all time favorite fragrance year round.

Flowers: Of course picture frames and floral arrangements are wonderful coffee table decorations. If you don't want to deal with the upkeep or expense of frequent replacing, opt for faux flowers made from silk.

Trays: The best way to ensure your coffee table décor doesn't look cluttered is to section things off with a tray. You can use decorative trays to hold candy dishes, catchall saucers, vases and more.

Planters: Going for a more contemporary look? You may want to forego the flowers and instead put some plants on top of your coffee table. For a modern minimalist effect, I recommend choosing a pot or planter made from concrete or marble. Succulents are usually best because they don't require much maintenance.

Your coffee table represents your overall style, so you better get to it. Use the above ideas to start styling a tabletop that symbolizes who you are, what you love and where you've been.
