.Sweet Potato Vine: My all-time fave, this vine produces a stunningly lush foliage in noticeable shades of green. Sweet potato vine is usually planted in spring and it requires very little upkeep.
.Creeping Jenny: Also known as “moneywort,” this luscious green plant is typically used as ground cover but it looks beautiful when presented in window boxes. Its round leaves cascade down to mimic the trailing of vines.
.Snapdragon: The tall blooms this flower species produces demand attention, making the snapdragon a great pick for your window planters this spring. Available in various colors, summer snapdragons add just the right touches of colorful beauty.
.Licorice Plant: The felt-like texture that covers the green foliage of this plant is what makes it a fine choice for window box planting. It's considered a spiller, so it will have to be occasionally pruned to prevent it from getting out of control.
.Herbs: Planting herbs in your window boxes is always a good idea. Not only do herb gardens look beautiful; They also smell amazing and provide you with usable ingredients for cooking. It's a win-win situation.
Decorating the exterior of your home can be just as fun as interior decorating. No need to waste time experimenting, Throughout my experience as a designer I've learned that the above 5 window box planting options are best for spring. That's not to say there aren't many other choices out there. It's all about finding what works best for your ultimate vision in terms of color schemes, dimension and upkeep.
