A lovely antique Austrian transferware plate featuring a romantic pastoral landscape rendered in a beautiful mulberry-pink transfer. The central scene depicts a tree-lined waterside landscape with a small country house in the distance, surrounded by an ornate floral border of roses and trailing blossoms.
Delicate gray scrollwork and gold trim add another layer of detail to the design, while the combination of soft ivory porcelain and rosy mulberry decoration gives the plate a wonderfully romantic, collected quality.
Measuring 7.5" in diameter, it is an ideal size for displaying individually on an easel or incorporating into a collected plate wall. The unusual mulberry palette pairs beautifully with antique blue and white, brown, and black transferware as well as traditional English Country and Grandmillennial interiors.
The reverse bears a crown and Austria backstamp.
